Here is some quick news from this week. This was a big week for Minecraft and Mojang, which kind of sucks because I have to rush in order to finish this post for tonight.
MINECRAFT XBOX 360 EDITION UPDATE AND SKIN PACK 3 RELEASED-
This week, not only did Xbox users get the opportunity to purchase new skins for all their mining purposes, but they also got to finally update their favorite game. This new update brings a plethora of additions to the Xbox edition. This update mostly corresponds with the 1.8.2 update on the PC version, however, many other items from future updates were included.
MOJANG HAS ITS 2ND BIRTHDAY AND ITS OWN DEVELOPERS BLOG-
This week, Mojang celebrated as it turned 2 years old and also managed to create a developers blog. According to EvilSeph, the blog will be used for the following purposes:
“This blog will be used by the Minecraft team to share developer related articles and information. It will cover things like: extremely technical write-ups that break down new features we’ve added to Minecraft that developers or map makers might find useful. Or articles detailing the use of a new tool we’ve created for the community’s use.”
SNAPSHOTS AND PRE-RELEASES OH MY!-
Mojang gave us a special snapshot this past Wednesday which included bug fixes, updates to the Anvil, and a sort of new redstone repeater, a locked repeater. It isn’t something that is crafted, it just occurs when you place redstone repeaters next to each other in the fashion shown in the picture above. I don’t really understand these yet, but it’s a cool idea.
They also released a pre-release for modders and server owners to prepare for the upcoming update. Get ready folks, just 3 days until Minecraft 1.4!
Sorry for the mediocre post tonight, I had a bit of work to do tonight and Tyler didn’t have much time to work on the post either. We’ll have a better news post next Sunday.
Also, I just wanted to say that Wednesday we will have a special 1.4 post.
Thanks for reading and Happy Mining!
